2. Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass

Since 1990, we have been performing a combination of the two most common weight reduction procedures, the vertical banded gastroplasty and the roux-en-Y gastric bypass. Our technique, vertical banded gastroplasty-gastric bypass (VBG-gastric bypass) has proven to be a very effective weight reduction operation. 6, 7 It combines the strengths of the vertical banded gastroplasty and the roux-en-Y gastric bypass. We perform this operation exclusively. A substantial amount of weight is lost by 98% of our patients.
