We are performing a combination of the two most common weight reduction procedures, the vertical banded gastroplasty and the gastric bypass. Our technique, vertical banded gastroplasty-gastric bypass (VBG-gastric bypass) has proved to be a very effective weight reduction operation. It combines the strengths of the vertical banded gastroplasty and the gastric bypass. We perform this operation almost exclusively. A substantial amount of weight is lost by 98% of patients.
