Roux-en-Y Bariatric Surgery
We are very proud of our Bariatric Surgery program which offers a comprehensive clinical approach to weight loss management for the morbidly obese. We offer the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgery which bypasses a large portion of the stomach and a short portion of the small intestine. Considered the gold standard for weight loss surgery, gastric bypass is the most frequently performed bariatric procedure in the United States and has been performed laparascopically since 1993. Our patients tell us that it provides a sense of satisfaction and fullness after eating only small amounts of food.

Laparoscopic or open bariatric surgery, such as gastric banding or bypass is not an easy solution to morbid obesity and weight loss. It is a serious surgical procedure, involving health risks. To produce lasting weight loss it requires a long-term patient commitment to eating a healthy diet and following a regular program of physical exercise. Life-long use of nutritional supplements may also be necessary. So, before deciding, discuss your options fully with your doctor. © 2003-2008 Bariatric-Surgery.Info - Terms - Contact - Information - Resources - Add URL
